Without Him
This piece was produced at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. My visual journalism instructors encouraged me to push the boundaries of journalism, while exploring a dark and very personal story. It was published in Brink's online magazine.
I shot, wrote and edited the entire piece. I shot everything on my HDSLR, Canon T3i.
In 2012, I traveled to Walsenburg, CO, the town where my dad grew up, to reconcile with the man I hadn’t seen in 17 years and to release the anger that permeated my childhood.
